Record Demand for Rental Properties
6 Aug 2010
Demand for rental property has reached record levels. A recent Government report showed that in the last decade the number of homes in the private rented sector has increased from 1 million to 3.2 million. It is likely there will be a shortage of available property for rent as there has been a huge increase in demand from tenants who are finding it difficult to secure a mortgage. With ongoing uncertainty in the sales market and constant speculation about prices rising and falling letting offers a flexible solution. The longer term prospects indicate housing shortages as there are not enough properties being built to keep up with growing demand.
